The beauty of skin and hair make women special anywhere. Regular exercise is undeniably helpful. However, in pursuit of a beautiful body, do not forget that skin and hair need extra care when you visit the gym. Intense physical activity contributes to the current release of sweat, which clogs up the pores, which can lead to peeling and irritation of the face, as well as increased hair greasiness. How to maintain the excellent condition of the skin and hair, actively practising sports?
Basic skincare rules
Remove makeup before training.
Some women, even in the gym, tend to look all dressed up – a thick layer of foundation, red lipstick, dense eyelashes of mascara. It is a very wrong approach. Firstly, it is not aesthetic – makeup with intensive training will be greased and will no longer look so beautiful. Secondly, it is harmful to the skin – cosmetics due to the current release of sweat clogs up the pores, which causes acne and blackouts. The first and, perhaps, the most crucial rule of face care at a sports training session is to remove makeup with micellar water or hydrophilic oil, and then wash with foam or gel. The skin should be well cleaned of any “chemistry”! Not able to give up makeup at all while doing fitness? Then use only “light” cosmetics – BB or CC-cream, colorless lip balm, mineral powder. No thick and greasy textures.
Moisturize your skin before exercise
High salt sweat does not have the best effect on skin condition. Yes, and active exercise leads to loss of moisture tissues. Protect the skin from dehydration – use a light moisturizer. Fatty care products banned. They will cover your face with a film, which will create an undesirable “sauna effect.” However, the cream with powerful moisturizing agents will maintain the excellent condition of the skin. Apply the product in 20-30 minutes before training after the facial cleansing procedure. Choose light gel textures or gentle emulsions.
Use face cream with SPF-filters if you practice outdoors.
In the spring-summer season, workouts are often transferred to the street – morning jogging and cycling, group yoga and Pilates in the fresh air. In this case, it is essential to protect the skin from the adverse effects of ultraviolet radiation. Replace the usual moisturizer that you always use before training, the tool with SPF-filters, and if you apply light makeup, you will need BB-cream with a sunscreen factor.
Take a shower after training.
No matter how trite the rule of taking a shower after training, it is often forgotten. After the gym, you need to wash off the sweat that “donkey” on the skin. This is a guarantee of its beauty and health. Besides, the shower will be an effective way of relaxation after dynamic loads. If you are engaged in “calm” fitness (for example, yoga) and do not sweat, then the shower can be postponed until the evening. However, even in this case, be sure to rinse your face with warm or cold water. It is better to use soft foam to wash away all dirt thoroughly.
Put hair in a ponytail to keep styling.
Do you work out more in the morning, and then go to work? Then, before training, put the hair in the tailor a bun. The scalp during class also sweats, which “spoils” the styling. A rear or beam will help keep the volume of hair. Even on the head, you can wear a special wide bandage, sliding it slightly on the forehead. It will absorb sweat, and the hair after exercise will not look as if dirty. After training, free your hair from rubber bands and clips. To preserve the beauty and health of your hair, immediately after training free them from tight elastic bands and clips that you used. Stroll through the strands of a soft massage comb to restore blood circulation to the scalp. Dry shampoo will help fix styling. It is advisable not to blow-dry curls that are wet from sweat. It can damage the condition of the hair. To wash the hair after sports is a controversial issue. If you exercise every day, too frequent use of shampoo can only harm. The locks will become withered or, on the contrary, the sebaceous glands of the scalp will more actively release fat. Also, to leave hair dirty after especially active training is not the best solution. Here, be guided by your feelings: when, after a workout, an unpleasant feeling of tightness appears on the scalp, and the hairstyle looks bad – use shampoo and if you have oily hair, you can wash your hair before classes. This technique will prevent excessive contamination of the strands.
Use creams and sprays for the legs
Do not forget to take care of the skin of the legs, which also gets dry from active workouts, as they are always tied up with toes and sneakers. Intense sweating also contributes to the appearance of an unpleasant odour. After class, wash your feet with shower gel. Apply a special cream to the skin. Choose a product with moisturizing, nourishing, and cooling properties. In such creams, as a rule, there are vitamins, base, and essential oils, menthol, eucalyptus. A quality tool will prevent the appearance of corns and cracks on the skin of the feet and so that after classes you are not bothered by the “saturated” smell of sweat, before you put on your sneakers, treat your feet with a special deodorizing spray. Cosmetics will help minimize the unpleasant smell of sweat — the composition of such funds plant extracts and essential oils, fragrances.
Apply to your lips moisturizing balsam
The skin on the lips also dries strongly during active workouts. Use a moisturizing balsam to prevent peeling and cracking. Let it be a colorless remedy – then you will not have to fear that the product will be lubricated during the process and after the gym; you can wash off the remnants of balm and apply your favorite bright lipstick. Even a matte texture will look great on a moist fairly skin of the lips.
